Today we shared our experiences from Week 2. A common problem that existed was that teachers had trouble being notified through our calendar reminders for google hangout.
Learning - Michael: Google Slides:
Good activity is to have students use leggo in google slides to create a story
Using animation - background - every page builds / moves your characters - timing slides is important .7 ..secs
Using slides for teaching - tasks/lesson sequencing using links to examples etc.
Using slides for notices and sharing events for the week - do not do more than a term in a slide as it slows down after about 40-50 slides. Activities that link between slides? students choosing.
Instagram Stories with google slides (College students only)
putting audio onto slides - 'AudioPlayer for Slides' ap
YouTube:
- curate - embed youtube video to your site
- create playlists and embed into site
- do not promote putting videos on youtube - learners need to put their videos into google drive and set permission. Make sure if you do post something in youtube that it is posted as 'anyone with a link' so that it will not show up in google search.
